Should You Watch It?
Watch it as the Lubelius on-ramp. School comedy plus spy cuts. If you skip, Episode 88’s Hero of Dawn dump has no fuse. Chloe’s name matters here. Not a full war week. The unsettling is the point of the title — mark anything beyond the aired meetings as guesswork.
Beginner-friendly? No as a start point. Watch from Season 1 Episode 1. This installment assumes you already know Tempest’s core cast — Rimuru at minimum.
Bottom line: sequential viewers should not skip “An Unsettling Feeling.” Fight-only watchers may feel the talkier stretches; nation-building fans will not.

Story Recap
Three hundred years and a plot
A Luminary eavesdrops on Luminous talking to someone, 300 years ago. Present: Granville wants the ultimate weapon in her possession. Hinata briefs Luminous on Tempest. Back home Rimuru assigns Carrera, Testarossa, and Ultima Council jobs. Tiss and Engrassia teachers like the new Tempest school. Kumara has a human form and attends. Chloe and the students find Rimuru. The cute school day is sitting on top of a hero-weapon plot. That contrast is the episode.
Clowns in El Dorado
Laplace, Footman, and Tear visit Leon in disguise, claiming Rimuru will block otherworlder summons. He does not care. They talk Eastern war news; he clocks the disguise. They say the kids he summoned are in Tempest, and he suspects Chloe. He spares them, sends people to investigate Tempest, and keeps hunting Chloe. Yuuki’s clowns just pointed a Demon Lord at Rimuru’s classroom. Leon’s reason is personal, not Council minutes.
School, then a save-the-date
Kenya and Alice fight; Tiss and Rimuru break it up. Fritz and Bacchus help the school until Hinata catches them mocking her. Clowns report to Yuuki, Kagali, and Misha (covering for Damrada) about Leon’s kid-summons and Chloe. In the dungeon, Rimuru, Hakurou, and Hinata teach combat. Hinata: Luminous invites Rimuru to a musical conference. He and the students say yes. Yuuki wants that concert as cover to awaken adult Chloe on Granville’s line, hoping Leon aims at Rimuru, then bounce East. Granville now treats Luminous as an enemy for allying with the slime. Luminous starts worrying about Rimuru. The field trip is bait. The kids are the bait inside the bait.
Unsettling is the brief
Nobody throws the last punch. Everyone updates targeting data. Primordials in the Council. Leon on Chloe. Granville on a weapon. Yuuki on a concert. Rimuru packing students for Lubelius like it is a choir trip. The feeling in the title is the audience’s.
Hold the concert in your head
Next numbered episode is Gran’s history. Then Lubelius as a convergence point — delayed a week in the real broadcast, which is rude and thematically on-brand. This hour is the RSVP.

Story Analysis
Plate-spinning episode. Comedy is school. Dread is Chloe as a piece on three boards. Pacing is cut, cut, cut. World-building is Leon’s summons, Luminous’s stored weapon, Council postings for primordials, and a concert as state visit.
Do not invent what “ultimate weapon” looks like beyond Granville wanting it. Do not invent Chloe’s adult form here. The episode is about people aiming, not the shot. Misha replacing Damrada is the Eastern merchant bench still live without Damrada in the chair.
Character Analysis
Rimuru is principal and soon concert guest. Hinata is teacher and messenger. Luminous is worried host. Granville is the man targeting her vault. Leon is Chloe’s other family. Laplace, Footman, Tear — the mail. Yuuki is the concert saboteur. Kagali and Misha are the listening post. Carrera, Testarossa, Ultima get day jobs. Kumara goes to school. Chloe is the child everyone is actually talking about. Class S plus Tiss, Fritz, Bacchus — the sitcom layer. Hakurou is dungeon gym teacher. Kenya and Alice are the recess fight.

World Building
Tempest has a school other nations’ teachers enjoy. Primordials can be civil servants. Leon summons otherworlder children for reasons the clowns are now leaking. Chloe connects Leon, Rimuru’s class, and Granville’s weapon interest. Concerts are Lubelius diplomacy. Disguises fail on Demon Lords who were paying attention. Eastern merchant seats can be reassigned (Misha). A hero-weapon in a vampire’s house is a rumor with an army attached.
Nothing here is later-arc homework. If a name or rule is only teased, it stays a tease.
Animation
School comedy, clown meeting, Leon’s court, dungeon class. No full war. Make Leon’s scenes expensive and the school warm so the contrast bites. A tone-jump episode. 8bit TV can do that with color, not sakuga.
Kagex animation score for this episode: 8.2 / 10 — peaks vs average cuts, not a sakuga clip ranking.
Music and Voice Acting
Score 8.3. 8bit’s TV mix leans on Elements Garden sting + silence. Japanese track is the reference for Rimuru’s dual register (cute slime vs office-brain). Dub timing varies by season; don’t wait on it to judge the episode.
Hidden Details
- Posting Testarossa to the Council is the Episode 90 Engrassia beat being staffed in advance.
- The concert invite is how you move Rimuru and the kids into Granville’s preferred kill box.
- Leon sparing the clowns is him prioritizing Chloe over pride.
Best Moments
- Primordials getting office jobs.
- Leon hearing Chloe might be in Tempest.
- A musical conference that is obviously not only a musical conference.
Pros & Cons
Pros: Specific to “An Unsettling Feeling” —
The unease episode. Watch it. School is the sugar; Chloe and the concert are the powder. Lubelius is next, after a hero’s origin.
Cons: Requires earlier episodes. Viewers who only want climax fights may call the political / logistics scenes slow even when they are load-bearing.
Final Verdict
Kagex overall: 8.5 / 10 —
The unease episode. Watch it. School is the sugar; Chloe and the concert are the powder. Lubelius is next, after a hero’s origin.
- Story: 8.6
- Characters: 8.6
- Animation: 8.2
- Music: 8.3
- Enjoyment: 8.4
I felt the title. Cute school scenes made the Leon/Chloe cuts worse. The concert RSVP is the “please do not take the kids” dread.
What to Expect Next
A former hero’s wedding-and-blood story, and Rimuru arriving in the city everyone else is already marching toward.
Next: Season 4 Episode 16 — Gran, the Hero of Dawn. Watch legally on Crunchyroll.
