Major Weiss is woken up by a rescuer. Mary Sioux and Mikael argue about hunting down members of Tanya‘s unit. At a field clinic, Tanya is informed by Weiss that it was a Federation mage who took him down.

The Staff
Zettour is blocked from assisting Tanya‘s encircled unit by cautious staff officers, so he instead enlists Grantz and heads to the front himself. Using himself as a decoy, Zettour tricks the Federation forces into overcommitting, opening the possibility for Tanya to hit their forces from the rear. Season 2 is not a stat check. “Decoy” spends its runtime on whether Tanya can live with a choice already made — a posting, a thesis, a decoy, a ceasefire she does not get. NUT stages that as briefings and dogfights, not as a menu.
