Should You Watch It?
Watch it as the Season 4 handshake: low combat, high “what is the new homework.” If you skip, the avatar-team and Council invite feel unearned. Fine for weekly viewers coming off the festival. Not a premiere for people who never saw Season 3. The sour aftertaste is the Rossos planning around a former Chosen Hero.

Mayor on a walk
Shuna hunts Rimuru while he watches Tempest: monsters and humans actually mixing. He wants a train station and a dungeon bar with elf staff on floor 95. He also hears the labyrinth is glitching. That is Season 4’s opening joke. The country is cute. The product is already throwing errors. Hinata is teaching in Tempest, Class S included, and yeets him out of the classroom when she catches him. The Saint as homeroom teacher is the alliance made mundane, which is the point of a “new days” title.
Pudding and patch notes
Shuna finds him and serves pudding shaped like Rimuru. He shares with Veldora, Ramiris, Gard, and Masayuki. Masayuki suggests save points, bathrooms, restaurants, tutorials. Gard wants ads and prize money. The reluctant hero is now a UX consultant. After Shion’s tea, Diablo refuses a Falmuth bonus and asks for subordinates instead — a request that will become the Black Numbers later. Rimuru puts Souei on Muese’s background. The festival’s leftover duke is still a thread.
Yuuki chooses the bench
In Engrassia, Yuuki cannot push his plan while Rimuru is watching, so he plays neutral despite the Alliance’s nerves. He still works the West. Neutral in this series is a costume. The episode lets him look reasonable. Season 4 will not leave him there.

Maribel and Granville start their plan to smash Tempest in favor of a former Chosen Hero. After Muese’s public failure, this is the Elders switching from debt to a legend. You do not need the full Greed lecture yet. You need the premiere to admit the festival did not convert the people who wanted Rimuru collared.

Season 4’s first hour is a palate reset, not a raid. That matches the official cour pitch: coexistence sphere, then the people who hate that idea. Comedy is Hinata’s classroom and pudding. Emotion is Rimuru enjoying his town. Ominous is Diablo requesting staff and Granville requesting a hero. Pacing is errands plus two villain cuts.
World-building is trains as the next map, dungeon as a live service, and Tempest schools with a Saint on payroll. Masayuki’s design notes are the show saying the labyrinth will evolve because players complained. Fair. Also very 2020s for a fantasy anime, and I am into it.
