Should You Watch It?
Watch this if you care why Season 2 is not only raids. It is a family-ghost episode plus a dungeon restock: father returns, Dongsoo gets put down, Jin-Ho gets a guild certificate with a hook attached, and Jinwoo grabs two of three potion materials. Skip it and the later “why is Dad on the map” thread has no floor. Combat fans get S-rank dungeon work; everyone else gets the first real look at the man who vanished when Jinwoo was a kid. Sung Il-Hwan, Sung Jinwoo’s father, escapes through a Gate in the United States after being trapped for ten years. That sentence is the episode’s earthquake. Hunter missing-person stories usually end in funerals. This one ends in a man walking out of a foreign gate like the calendar was a suggestion. The U.S. location matters: he does not come home first. He comes out wherever the Gate spat him.
The show does not turn it into a hug. It turns it into a security event. A hunter who has been inside a Gate that long is not a reunion photo. He is a walking unknown with Jinwoo’s last name. Season 2’s family plot stops being only a hospital mother and a school sister. The missing parent is now a plot device with a pulse, and the pulse is in another country.

Dongsoo going to a hospital bed is Season 2 rearranging the threat board. The brother-revenge plot does not vanish; it just lost its loudest instrument for a while.
