In the present, Ichigo Kurosaki walks up the long steps to Ichibe’e Hyōsube’s temple atop a mountain with Ichibe’e himself. ]] Inside the temple, Ichibe’e brings up the extensive damage that Soul Society has suffered, and as they come to stand before the large doors within the temple, Ichibe’e slams his Zanpakutō on the ground and calls this pathetic because a thousand years of peace have clearly made the Shinigami weak, though Ichigo points out that the Royal Guard merely watched as this happened.
